Lots of turkeys, plenty of deer, and one big surprise!

It was an exciting month indeed for the game cameras.  We now have  3 cameras to monitor, and all produced at least a few decent photos this month.  It has taken me a few days to go through them all and narrow down the winners worthy for a post.  So first we will start with  a fairly boring new record for the year, but a first nonetheless.

A groundhog visited for a few days

Followed by quite a few nice shots of turkeys.  Sometimes they were in small groups, and sometimes solo, but they showed up quite a bit on 2 of the cameras.

In addition, the deer seemed to always be on camera day and night, I literally got hundreds of photos.  Many are of a doe with 2 yearlings, and I frequently see them while on the property.  There are also a pair of young bucks just beginning to show some antlers, as well as a few older bucks off to a good start already.  Sure is fun getting familiar with these deer.

I think this is the nice 8 pointer from earlier in the year

The big winner only showed up one time, late in the afternoon, but still in very good light.  This lone bobcat absolutely made my day when I scrolled past this image.  This was one of my target animals for these cameras and I’m thrilled we got him/her.  Hopefully we get a few more photos along the way.

Still looking for that armadillo, and surprised by the lack of regular sightings of other predators like coyote and fox.  It should be fun to see what next month brings.  I expect to see some progress on the new velvet antlers as well as probably a fawn or two.  Had to share this last photo of me, coming out of my hiding spot behind the roses after the big gobbler just gave me the slip.
